GOAL: To repair or replace a housing component that poses an immediate threat to the health and safety of the household or structure.

GRANT AMOUNT: Maximum $7500

PROPERTY TYPE: Single-family, Owner Occupied

LOCATION: Within Montgomery County

Not available in the Cities of Kettering or Dayton

UNDERWRITING: Proof of ownership, minimum of 1 year

Current utility bill must be submitted with application

Proof of income eligibility

Mortgage payments and taxes must be current, minimum 3 month payment history if on a tax payment plan

Proof of property insurance

INCOME RESTRICTION: Household income based on family size must be at or below

80% of the area median income.

IMPROVEMENTS: Furnace repair or replacement, water heater replacement, electrical hazards repaired, roof repair or replacement, Drain/Waste/Vent lines, gas lines, sewage systems, & accessibility modifications


  • Owner must be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain home.

  • CountyCorp reserves the right to deny assistance if the cost of repairs

exceeds the maximum dollar amount available through the Emergency Grant Program.

  • Property does not need to be brought up to housing and building code standards.

  • Emergency must be related to the actual residence. Detached garages, fences or outbuildings do not qualify.

  • Resident must have utilities or able to reconnect utilities if emergency involved disconnect for safety issues. Funds cannot be used to pay any part of utility bills or deposits. If resident cannot connect utilities for work to be done we will decline application or service.
